A workshop for anyone interested or involved in groups — current Group Leads, people who already help out, and members who’ve thought they might like to do a bit more one day.

Introduction

u3a groups only work because people quietly help them along — sharing ideas, lending a hand, and supporting each other. You don’t need to be an expert, and you don’t need to do everything yourself. Most Group Leads are really coordinators, helping groups run smoothly and encouraging shared learning.

Brief Overview - Supporting new and existing u3a Groups

This informal workshop will explore:

  • How groups stay healthy and enjoyable
  • Sharing roles so no one feels overloaded
  • Planning for continuity so groups don’t rely on one person
  • Supporting new Group Leads so no one feels on their own
  • How new group ideas can grow naturally

It’s not training and it’s not recruitment — just a chance to share experiences, pick up practical ideas, and support each other. Because u3a groups thrive when everyone helps a little.
